AISMK to accord top priority to quality education to all
Coimbatore, Mar 17 (UNI) All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) President Sarathkumar today said his party would accord top priority to provide quality and uniform education to all people.
Talking to reporters here, he alleged ''both the DMK and the AIADMK are not finding time to solve the people's problems as they are always engaged in war of words.'' ''My party will take up constructive work for the benefit of the poor, particularly rural people'', he said.
Mr Sarathkumar said the rural people were deprived of the kind of education their urban counterparts received.
''By providing quality and uniform education to the rural people, we can bring down the incidents of drop outs and reduce unemployment,'' he said.
''The government should open toddy shops to help the coconut farmers, instead of opening more TASMAC outlets,'' he said.
On the next general elections, Mr Sarathkumar said his party would not enter into any alliance and had decided to contest all the 40 Lok Sabha (39 in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry) seats alone.
