Mumbai: 5 killed, 45 injured in industrial fire
Mumbai, Mar 17: At least five people were killed and 45 others injured in a major fire that engulfed the Retiwala Industrial Estate at Byculla in South-central Mumbai today.
The Additional Commissioner of Police Rajnesh Seth told mediapersons that the fire broke out at 1530 hrs in the Industrial Estate, where a number of units are based. The injured were admitted to the state run J J Hospital and civic run K E M hospital, he said. Twelve fire engines, eight water tankers and three ambulances were rushed to spot, sources said. The fire had not been fully brought under control, the sources said, adding that the cause of the fire was yet still to be ascertained.
