Agartala, Mar 16: The first session of the newly formed tenth Tripura Assembly will formally begin at the historical Ujjayanta Palace with the address of Governor D N Sahaya tomorrow afternoon.
Assembly secretary S M Lodh informed mediapersons here today that in first hour of the day, the House would elect the Speaker and Deputy Speaker followed by formation of Business Advisory Committee (BAC) and its meeting.
''Since the new government assumed office only last week, the full-fledged budget is not possible at the moment but we will pass vote on account for next three months and subsequently a separate Budget Session will be convened,'' newly appointed Finance Minister Badal Choudhury said.
He, however, indicated that the session might be held for four days this time because there was no more business to be conducted by the government.
The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker would not take much time, as the ruling Left Front had already announced its nominee Ramendra Chandra Debnath as Speaker and Bhanu Lal Saha as Deputy Speaker.
Mr Debnath has held the post of Speaker since the past ten years and Mr Saha won the election for the first time by defeating Tripura Congress president and former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Barman from Bishalgarh in West Tripura.
The 60-member tenth Tripura Assembly comprises 46 Legislators of CPI (M), two of RSP, one each from CPI and opposition INPT and 10 of Congress.
