TDB members should stop public outcry: LDF
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 16 (UNI) The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala today asked the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) members to stop airing views in public forum and adhere to the LDF policies.
Front Convener Vaikom Vishwam told reporters here that the TDB members' statements were not in tune with the LDF policies, he said.
They should behave in accordance with the interest of the board and the devotees.
The TDB, for the last so many days, had been airing their difference of opinion on many issues, the last one being the suspension of board officials.
Devaswom Minister G Sudhakaran had even stated that the TDB president and members should resign for the sake of devotees.
Mr Vishwam also condemned the Chengara agitation in Pathanamthitta by a group of landless people, encroached upon the Harrison Malayalam estate. ''The LDF has always stood for giving land to the landless. The government has been distributing land to the tribal people and has also planned to distribute land to the landless. In this situation, we do not understand why the agitators are indulging in such a strike,'' he asked.
He alleged that certain forces, trying to scuttle the LDF Government, were indulging in 'anti-LDF' Government propaganda.
