Quake rock kashmir yet again, sixth in one month
Srinagar, Mar 16 (UNI) An earthquake of mild intensity rocked the Kashmir valley, forcing people to rush out of their houses today.
This was the sixth earthquake in the valley during past one month.
A spokesman of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD ) said quake measuring 3.5 magnitude was felt at 1115 hrs.
People rushed out of their houses in panic.
He said the 3.5 magnitude earthquake was epicentered at 36.7 Degree (North) Latitude and 75.28 Degree (East) Longitude, hit Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir.
There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property, official sources said.
Mild intensity tremors-- between 2.9 and 4.1 on the Richter scale-- hit Srinagar on February 20 and 25, two temblor's occurred on March 1 and one on March 6.
Srinagar falls in seismic Zone-V and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir fall in seismic Zone IV.
