National seminar on rural development to begin tomorrow
New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) Union Minister for Rural Development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh will inaugurate the two-day National Seminar on "Rural Development: Issues and Challenges" beginning tomorrow.
This seminar is being organised by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to provide an opportunity for re-evaluation of the implications related to rural development issues and raise concerns for innovative reformulations at the policy and implementation level.
The objectives of the seminar are to identify issues in rural development in the current scenario and the challenges faced, to discuss various aspects that affect the rural life, effective measures for implementation of concrete policies in rural development to bring about a positive and sustainable change and also to stimulate young researchers to take up in-depth study on issues pertaining to rural development.
Vice Chancellor, IGNOU, V N Rajasekharan Pillai will deliver the Welcome address at the seminar while IGNOU Pro-Vice Chancellor, Latha Pillai and IGNOU Prof Anu Aneja will give the introduction.
