International coaches to train Indian baseball players

Chandigarh, Mar 16 (UNI) The Baseball Federation of India (BFI) and the Women's Baseball Federation of India (WBFI), in association with the Sports Excellence Academy, have invited international coaches for imparting training to Indian baseball players who are comparitevely new to this game.

Along with international coaches, USA Women's Baseball League President Justine Seigal and Central Ontario Girls Baseball League President Patrick Mc Caluey have also been invited.

BFI chief Deepak Joshi today said, ''They are the qualified coaches who have led their teams to many international victories.'' Top men and women players would be attending the camp. The players selected for the fourth World Universaide Baseball Championship to be held at Prague, Czech Republic in July 2008 would be attending the camp.

''This camp would help us to upgrade the level of baseball and promote sport in the country,'' he said, adding that the BFI also intends to start training camps for those who wish to learn the game.

Indian coaches, including J Lamba, Trilok Singh and Ravinder Salhotra, have also been deputed to train players at the camps,'' added BFI Secretary General Anandit Joshi.
