Shimla, Mar 16(UNI)The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet here today decided to implement Health Insurance Scheme, component of the newly introduced Handloom Weavers Comprehensive Welfare Scheme with a view to provide them health insurance cover.

This would to benefit 20,000 weaver families engaged in the weaving profession all over the state.

State Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister,Prem Kumar Dhumal, presided over the meeting.

The cabinet decided to constitute a committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to study working of all Public Sector Undertakings in the Industries Department and suggest measures to reform them with the Principal Secretary Industries, Secretary Finance, Secretary Personnel and Secretary Law as its members.

It approved the amendment in Himachal Pradesh Non-Government Colleges (Grant in Aid) Rules, 2007.

It approved preferential allotment of plots and sheds at concessional rates to the physically challenged entrepreneurs with a view to develop entrepreneurship amongst them to explore self employment avenues in different enterprises.

It finalized norms for Elementary Teacher Education Programme in Himachal Pradesh. Eligibility for TGT candidates will be 50 percent marks in graduation. This will be applicable prospectively to those graduates who pass the graduation after June 30, 2008 this year.

The Cabinet noted the status of formation of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited constituted to undertake the execution of the Hydro Electric Projects in the State Sector.

It sanctioned 100 posts of Punjabi and 100 posts of Urdu Language Teachers for 100 each identified schools being opened all over the state.

It further approved regularization of 56 daily waged workers on work charged basis in the HP State Industrial Development Corporation.

It also approved relaxation in the educational qualification for appointment as JBTs in respect of 8 candidates who have passed out from RITI Kullu.
