New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) Cobra Indian Beer Pvt Ltd said it has signed an agreement with Maharashtra-based brewery, Mohan Rocky Springwater Breweries Ltd for strengthening its distribution reach in Maharashtra.
Under the agreement, Mohan Rocky will brew Cobra under licence at its facility in Khopoli, Raigadh District of Maharashtra, a statement said.
For this, Cobra Beer will deploy its technical expertise at the brewery for continuous supervision to meet Cobra's stringent quality standards.
Announcing the tie-up, Cobra Indian Beer Pvt Ltd Chief Operating Officer Poonam Chandel said,'' Maharashtra is a key market for us and we were on a lookout for a local brewery that can enable us to provide our consumers with a truly international, super premium beer at affordable prices, in Mohan Rocky we have found the right partner that matched our quality standards.'' Across India, Cobra is currently brewed at six locations namely Mount Shivalik in Rajasthan, Impala Breweries in Goa, Mikal in Orissa, Iceberg in Bihar, SOM in Madhya Pradesh and Manav Breweries in Uttar Pradesh. The current capacity is six lakh cases per month.
With the sales growing at 600 per cent year on year, the company is targeting a turnover of three million cases by the end of this financial In two years of production, Cobra has crossed sales of over two million cases year.
Deepening of distribution, new brewing capacities through contract manufacturing and widespread product acceptance are the main strategies behind the success of the Cobra Beer.
The product has made strong in-roads in key markets such as Kolkata, Goa and Mumbai, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Delhi. With the strengthening of its distribution reach, Cobra Beer is now present in over 10,000 outlets and over 7,000 premises.
