Poojary demands explanation from CEC on bogus voters
Bangalore, Mar 15 (UNI) Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary today demanded the Central Election Commission (CEC) to come out with an explanation on the huge number of bogus voters detected in electoral rolls in Karnataka.
Addressing newspersons here, Mr Poojary said after the publication of the final electoral list, names of over 52 lakh voters were removed following a revision.
''How these names got included not explained so far,'' he asked.
''The Election Commission should explain to the public how these bogus voters were included in the list. It seems that the Election Commission is under severe pressure from those parties, which are demanding early elections to Karantaka Assembly,'' Mr Poojary said.
Stating that the Congress was ready to face election any time, Mr Poojary said the people would bring the Congress back to power in the State.
On S M Krishna's return to state politics, Mr Poojary said his return would boost the party's prospects in the coming elections.
