Karan Singha takes charge as IGP Central Zone

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 15 (UNI) Karan Singha took charge as Inspector General of Police, Central Zone here yesterday.

Mr Singha, who was IG Crime (SIT), Chennai, replaced I Raja, who was transferred and posted as IG Crime (SIT).

A 1987-batch IPS officer, Mr Singha earlier served as Superintendent of Police in Tuticorin and Tirunelveli districts and also served as Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore city.

He served in the Central Bureau of Investigation as Superintendent of Police and later as Deputy Inspector General in New Delhi and Mumbai.

He was also IG Coastal Security Group for sometime.
