Ahmedabad, Mar 15 (UNI) The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will contest all 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat and two seats in Union Territory of Diu-Daman and Dadaranagar Haveli independently in the next elections, party leader Baliharibabu said today.
Baliharibabu, MP, told mediapersons here that on the 74th birth anniversary of BSP founder late Kanshiram, the party, led by UP Chief Minister Mayawati, has pledged to work towards forming a government at the Centre after the general elections.
He said BSP wanted to repeat the UP formula, which catapulted it to power there in last Assembly elections.
The party fielded as many as 166 candidates in Gujarat in the last Assembly elections, but all lost. The party hoped to increase its mass base in Gujarat, Baliharibabu added.
