Vijayawada, Mar 15 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson P Venkatarao today flayed senior BJP leader L K Advani for his remarks that the leader post in the Congress was reserved for the ''Nehru dynasty.'' Dismissing the BJP leader's remarks at a press conference here, Mr Venkatarao pointed out that after Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri became the Prime Minister and after Rajiv Gandhi, P V Narasimha Rao ruled the country and completed full-term in office successfully.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was elected as the AICC President after Nehru and K Kamaraj and S Nijalingappa took over as the party chief during the Nehru regime.

Referring to the BJP-sponsored 'bandh' in the Telangana region demanding the formation of a separate state, Mr Venkatarao said the bandh was a total failure. The BJP and the TDP, who were silent on the issue during its rule at the Centre and in the state respectively, were now raking up the issue now for political gain only, he alleged.

He also took exception to TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu's allegations against the Congress, particularly Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and said Mr Naidu had allotted a seat to his brother-in-law N Harikrishna for the ensuing Rajya Sabha elections.
