Hyderabad, Mar 15 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today paid tributes to freedom fighter, Potti Sriramulu, who sacrified his life following his 58-day 'fast-unto-death' for formation of an exclusive State for Telugu-speaking people, on the occasion of his birth anniversary tomorrow.
Sriramulu followed the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi, the Chief Minister said, adding, he never compromised his principles and moral values and till his death he dedicated his life to the service of the nation.
Dr Reddy said Sriramulu was a role-model for others and known for his austerity and services to the poor, downtrodden and toiling masses. The freedom fighter also propagated universal literacy, women's education, eradication of untouchability, Khadi movement and rural development, he added.
