RSS asks cadres to stand by their Kerala brethren
New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) The RSS today asked its cadres across the country to stand by their brethren who became the victims of the CPM ''brutalities'' in Kerala recently.
In a statement here, RSS general secretary Mohanrao Bhagwat asked the RSS cadres to expose the ''true nature and face'' of the CPM, which has no place in a country with such great tradition of tolerance and pluralistic ethos.
''I appeal to all the right-thinking and peace-loving citizens of the country to raise their voice against the fascist and Stalinist face of the CPM in the larger interest of our democracy and freedom,'' he added.
The statement said five RSS activists have been killed and scores grievously wounded in renewed attacks allegedly by the CPM cadres since March 5 in North Kerala district of Kannur.
The houses of more than 40 RSS cadres have been destroyed in this violence, it added.
As far as the RSS in Kerala was concerned, it would zealously guard its constitutional right of freedom of expression, association and propagation, Mr Bhagwat said.
On the recent violence in the national capital, he said the RSS members, including women, had marched in a peaceful manner to the CPM headquarters in Delhi to protest the acts of Stalinism and fascism of the Left party.
''Showing their Nandigram-style intolerance, the CPM cadres repeated what they have been doing in Kannur and attacked the peaceful demonstrators with brickbats and chairs, resulting in unfortunate violence on Delhi streets,'' Mr Bhagwat said.
