Jammu, Mar 14 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) managing director today said there is no reason for its employees to continue their strike when issues have been sorted out.

Addressing a press conference here this evening, managing director, SRTC, Manzoor Ahmed Lone said, ''the employees union and management has arrived at an agreement on March 10 in which demands of employees relating to pending salaries was considered''.

''There should be no doubt in the minds of employees on the implementation of agreement, he added.

''The employees should not be carried away by the misgivings created by vested interests and such an uncalled behaviour of employees will be taken strict note as in view of Essential Services Maintenance Ordinance (ESMO) has already invoked,'' he maintained.

''The corporation was crumbling under the liability of Rs 45 crore of J&K Bank loan drawn to bear the expenses on the salaries and other perks of employees. The daily interest of Rs two lakh was being paid on the loan drawn, which is being delayed,'' Mr Ahmed told media persons.

However, he appealed to the employees not to get used by vested interests but carry on their duties to relieve the public.
