Mehbooba to visit Pakistan to attend conference on regional stability

Srinagar, Mar 14 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti will be visiting to Pakistan on March 27 to attend Pugwash conclave on "Regional Stability".

Mehbooba is scheduled to visit Pakistan on March 27 to attend the conclave on March 28-29 at Islamabad.

The proposed conclave would discuss problems of regional stability, initiatives that should be taken to promote peace and cooperation in the region, and make possible recommendations to the respective governments in this regard.

Focus of Mehbooba's presentation at the conference would be "Prospects for Kashmir in Indo-Pak relations" among other topics to be discussed during the conclave.

She would give a detailed presentation of the party's Self-Rule proposals at the conference.

Several political leaders, scholars and opinion makers are scheduled to attend the two-day conference. This would be Mehbooba's maiden visit to Pakistan. During her stay in Pakistan, the PDP president would be meeting a cross-section of leaders and civil society activists. y Suhail Ahmed
