Jayapura receives 9 cm rain

Bangalore, Mar 14 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Rainfall occurred at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Jayapura 9 cm; Indi 8.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Kota 6; Gadag 5; Siddapura, C.N.Halli 4 each; Panambur, Bellatti, Tyagarthi, Arasalu, Humchadakatte, Chikmagalur, Kudligi, Challakere, Nayakanahatti, 3 each; Kundapur, Navalgund, Madapura, B.Durga, Bharamasagara, Hiriyur, Molkalmuru, Rampura, Holalkere, Ramagiri, Srirampura, Chikkanahalli 2 each; Maximum temperatures changed little over the State. They were below normal at many places being appreciably so at a few places over South Interior Karnataka; however appreciably above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over North Interior Karnataka.

Shirali recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36.2 degree celsius over the State. Minimum temperatures rose at many places being appreciably so at a few places over South Interior Karnataka; rose at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at a few places over Coastal Karnataka, above normal at many places over South Interior Karnataka and appreciably above normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Davanagere recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 16.0 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Bangalore: Generally cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely. Maximum and Minimum temperature likely to be around 30 and 20 degree celsius respectively.
