Bhopal, Mar 14 (UNI) The matter of alleged strip searching of girls of a hostel in Indore was today raised in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
Drawing attention to the matter during the Zero Hour, Mr Arif Aqueel (Cong) alleged that girls were subjected to strip search after a ''dirty cloth'' was found in the hostel. He demanded action against the guilty in this regard.
During the Zero Hour, Leader of Opposition Jamuna Devi raised the issue of sudden increase in fee collected from students of a private medical college in Ujjain. She said collecting double fee from students has created problems for guardians.
In a statement here yesterday, state Congress spokesperson K K Mishra demanded a magisterial inquiry into the skin search of 40 girls of hostel at MHOW in Indore. The party would gather information related to the incident and submit it to the state Women's Commission.
MHOW Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rahul Jain said no complaints had been received in this regard. Naib tahsildar Priyanka Chourasia had been sent to the hostel to inquire into the matter but girls denied such an incident took place.
