Indian Panorama begins at Nandan tomorrow
Kolkata, Mar 14 (UNI) The maiden exposition of the Indian Panorama with 21 feature and as many non-feature films begins at Nandan here from tomorrow.
The exposition, titled "Festival of Indian Panorama 2007 Films" opens with "Bagher Baccha", a debut non-feature film in Bengali, directed by Bishnu Dev Haldar, a graduate of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute.
The opening film of the feature film section is Ore Kadal (Malayalam), directed by Shyamaprasad, said Additional Director General of Directorate of Film Festivals Neelam Kapur.
Many films of the Indian Panorama would be screened here for the first time.
Debut directors like Sameer Hanchate, Bhavna Talwar and Samir Chanda would bring with them a refreshing and incisive style of cinema.
The non-feature section would also offer a large variety.
Films like Bagher Bachha, Hope Dies Last in War, Joy Ride and Whose Land Is It Anyway would definitely be interesting, Ms Kapur said adding the films having english sub-title will be shown also in Bangalore and Delhi.
Efforts were on to make it an annual event, she added.
