New Delhi, March 13: Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee who continues to vent his exasperation in the House today said: "Burn the rule book near Mahatma Gandhi's statue".

An agitated Chatterjee made the comment during zero hour as members clashed in the house and were vying to put their point across.

"Anybody says anything... Who is listening (to me)?.. What to do."

"Show respect to each other," was another comment during the pandemonium triggered by an issue raised by BJD member Braj Kishore Tripathi about alleged security rules violation during Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's visit to Orissa last week.

When he insisted that Tripathi be briefed while making his point, the BJD member made some remark. Unhappy over it, the Speaker said, "It is easy to level accusations against the chair," but made it clear that it was he would "decide what is relevant and what not".

On Wednesday, Chatterjee, upset over the "shameful" behaviour of members, said that it amounted to "murder of democracy".
