Radio taxi rolls into Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Mar 13 (UNI) Mumbai's premier radio taxi service provider V-Link Taxis Private Ltd today announced the launch of 'Meru', a world class metered, radio taxi service in the city.

With the launch of the Meru cab service, Hyderabad will witness the introduction of its first metered radio taxi service.

'Meru', which will launch around 400 taxis in Hyderabad, will cater to the demand to the city's public transportation infrastructure.

In a statement, V-Link MD Neeraj Gupta said, ''our success in Mumbai is due to our strong emphasis on providing a high-quality, comfortable and affordable travel experience for our customers.'' ''Our radio taxi service provides customers the opportunity to commute in a modern air-conditioned taxi, enabled by GPS-based dispatch technology. The customer has a 100 per cent assurance of a tamper-proof metre and a printed receipt for each fare,'' he added.

Customers can avail service by dialing 44224422 or be sending an SMS to 57575 or doing a web request at www.merucabs.com.

V-Link offers an advance booking system for 'Meru' which allows a customer to book a cab over the phone or on the net at their desired location from anywhere within Hyderabad city.

The company also plans to introduce 'Meru' in Delhi and Bangalore by the end of March 2008 and subsequently in other large cities in India, he added.
