Kochi, Mar 13 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today granted time till March 26 to the Bishwas Mehta Committee to consider the grievances of government doctors and submit its report.

Advocate General C P Sudhakara Prasad submitted on behalf of the State Government that the report was not ready and the committee needed more time to submit it.

There had been an earlier direction to the committee to submit the report after studying the grievances of the doctors.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and K T Sankaran gave more time to the committee to file the report.

The court is hearing two petitions-- one filed by the Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) seeking enhancement of pay and a public interest petition seeking a declaration that doctors do not have a right to strike.
