Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) In yet another case of submission of forged documents to obtain visa for the US, a woman from Gujarat was arrested by the police here last evening.
Police sources said a manhunt has been launched to nab the broker who helped the woman.
Jayashree Patel (28) had received an offer to work as maid servant in US and got the necessary documents from a broker for obtaining visa on payment of Rs 50,000.
On verification by the US Consulate authorities, the documents, including the passport, were found to be fake. She was handed over to the city police, who arrested her last evening.
The latest incident followed the arrest of three women, including an actor, connected with the South Indian Film Industry (SIFI) for submitting false credentials in respect of 200 applicants seeking visa to travel to the US, prompting the Consulate to impose life time ban on them for travelling to the country.
