Govt to enforce NRHM scheme for adolescent health
Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) Tamil Nadu government would implement 'NRHM scheme for adolescent health' through 14 medical colleges here.
An official release here today said the Rs 3.25 crore scheme is the biggest programme on adolescent health in India. The programme strategy will provide adolescent health services through existing health systems in the medical colleges.
The scheme includes a core package consisting of preventive, promotive, curative and counselling services for adolescents.
Implemention plan includes formation of adolescent health committee, separate adolescent clinic in medical colleges, conducting outreach camps, setting up medical laboratory, councelling and establishing a centre for studying adolescent issues, the release added.
