Dinesh Trivedi files nomination for RS seat
Kolkata, Mar 13 (UNI) Trinamool Congress' outgoing Rajya Sabha member Dinesh Trivedi today filed his nomination for the RS election from West Bengal despite the party not having the requisite number of members to get its candidate through.
Mr Trivedi, accompanied by Opposition leader Partha Chatterjee, Rajya Sabha MP Mukul Roy and other party MLAs, filed his paper with Assembly secretary J Chakraborty.
Talking to mediapersons, Mr Chatterjee said the party had authorised Mr Trivedi to file his nomination for the seat.
" When we have fielded a candidate, we definitely have a plan.
There is time for the election, " Mr Chatterjee said.
In

reference
to
the
Congress,
Mr
Chatterjee
said,
" We
hope
those
who
talk
about
removing
the
CPI(M)
from
the
state
will
support
Mr
Trivedi.
"
