BJP to press for early elections: Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Mar 13: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa today warned that his party would move the Supreme Court if any attempts were made to delay the assembly elections in Karnataka.
The Congress was trying to postpone elections following pressure from its state unit leaders, Mr Yeddyurappa charged, adding ''Congress has no respect for democracy'', talking to reporters. Mr Yeddyurappa spoke after admitting JD(S) leader B N Bacchegowda into the BJP. ''The BJP meet at Delhi on March 19 will decide on approaching the Supreme Court'', he added. He said there was no reason for putting off elections to the state Assembly as the electoral authorities were in the process of completing the delimitation of constituencies.
