Two new judges administered oath as High Court judges

Chandigarh, Mar 12 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice Vijender Jain today administered the oath to Ms Sabina and Mr Jora Singh as High Court Judges.

Both the the newly-appointed Judges hail from Punjab.

Whereas Ms Sabina was posted as District and Sessions Judge, Bathinda, Mr Jora Singh was posted as District and Session Judge, Fatehgarh Sahib before their elevation.

With the present elevation, the strength of High Court Judges has increased to 43, a figure which is all time high. This is the first time that there would be three women Judges on the Bench of the High Court.

Earlier, Mr Ram Chand Gupta, Registrar General read out the notification of the Government of India and the warrants of appointment of Ms Sabina and Mr Jora Singh as High Court Judges.

Those present on the occasion included Judges, former Judges, Advocate Generals of Punjab and Haryana, President High Court Bar Association, Senior Advocate, Civil Services and other High Court Officers.
