Mithi appeals to Ministers to shed differences
Puducherry, Mar 12 (UNI) Mr Mukut Mithi, who resigned as Puducherry Lt Governor today, called upon Chief Minister N Rangasamy and his cabinet colleagues to shed their differences and function unitedly in the interest of the people.
In an informal chat with newspersons here before leaving for New Delhi this evening, Mr Mithi said he had resigned the post to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha seat from his home state Arunachal Pradesh.
Since March 15 is the last date for filing the nominations, he will have to rush, hence he had faxed the resingation letter to President Pratibha Patil.
Mr Mithi hoped that he had performed his duty properly during his tenure and played a role in the development of tourism and industry.
He also advised the government to be transparent and progressive.
Later, he inspected a guard of honour by the Puducherry Armed Police force.
