KFA under-13 lone Indian team for MIC tourney in Spain

Mumbai, Mar 12 (UNI) Kenkre Football Academy's (KFA) under-13 team has been invited as India's lone representative to take part in the eighth edition of the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) in Europe.

MIC is a football tournament for young talented young players, which will be held on different locations along the Costa Brava in Spain from March 18 to 23, a release said.

The prominent teams, who will be featuring with their youth sides in the tourney are Mexico National Team, Brazil National Team, RCD Espanyol, Lokomotiv Moscow, FC International Milan, Manchester United, Real Madrid CF, C Atletico de Madrid, Arsenal FC, Ajax Amsterdam and FC Barcelona among a host of others.

Kenkre Football Academy Director Joshua Lewis said, ''It is a great achievement for a young Indian football team to rub shoulders with the best of European soccer teams. For me, it is like a dream come true to see young Indian footballers make their mark in the global arena. Participation in such international tournaments will help sharpen the skill sets of young Indian footballers and inspire them to greater glory.'' Reebok will be the official apparel sponsor for the academy under-13 team, which will be participating, and they have been drawn in a group consisting of Under-13 Mexico National Team (Mexico), Gimnastic Tarragona (Spain) and EF Baix Ter (Spain), the release added.

The 18 member squad is as follows: Nipun Chauhan, Sanchit Shetty, Apporv Bhagat, Ajeet Udhan, Yash Sawant, Yash Shah, Neil Pinto, Dhanajay Joshi, Sanket Guha, Tejas Thackeray (GK), Pranav Malhotra, Neel Shah, Arsh Majithia, Calvin Lobo, Yash Chaudhary, Abhinav Havaldar (GK), Karan Dave, Danish Avasia.
