BSF jawan injured in Kashmir blast
Srinagar Mar 12: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was injured in a mine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said today.
Chandrapal Raina of 33 battalion BSF was on patrol duty when a land mine suddenly went off at Bore Keran near LoC. The injured was hospitalised.
Hundreds of mines were planted on both sides of the LoC during different wars by Indian and Pakistani troops. However, the mines could not be defused, resulting in accidents.
About two dozen people were killed and scores lost their limbs due to mine explosions for the past 50 years near the LoC, particularly in twin border districts of Kupwara and Baramulla.
