Anganwadi fiscal rights withdrawn in MP
Bhopal, Mar 12 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Woman and Child Development Minister Kusum Mehdele today announced in the Assembly that fiscal rights of anganwadi centres would be withdrawn following irregularities and an Usha Kiran Scheme initiated against domestic violence.
Replying to a debate on budgetary demands for the Social Welfare, Woman and Child Development departments, she said, ''Usha Kiran envisages a lifeline and an emergency telephone number.'' Under the Integrated Child Development Project, anganwadi centres would be opened in 30 districts with World Bank assistance of Rs 300 crore over the next five years.
Speaker Ishwardas Rohani expressed concern over youths charged of grave crimes being housed in juvenile homes, directed the government to conduct an inquiry and shift the youths to other locations.
After the Minister's reply, demands exceeding Rs 667 crore were passed.
