Srinagar, Mar 12 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prof Saifuddin Soz today said the ruling coalition in the state was working in a coordial atmosphere and would complete its full term.
Apart from minor differences, the Congress, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alliance was working very well, the union Water Resources minister said, addressing his maiden press conference as PCC chief here this afternoon.
In reply to a question, he said the coalition government has done wonderful job during all these years.
The timing of the state assembly elections is yet to be decided, he said, adding the coalition government should be allowed to complete its full term.
Prof Soz maintained that Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has rightly directed all leaders not to speak about policy matters.
Earlier Mr Soz, who arrived here for the first time after being nominated as PCC chief following by Peerzada Muhammad Syed's resignation after corruption charges by a sitting MLA, addressed a public meeting at Sher-e-Kashmir park here.
He said Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister had imposed a confidence in him to make the Congress more strong in all the three regions of the state.
Prof Soz said before leaving for Jammu and Kashmir, Mrs Gandhi said tell party workers to help people.
He said Congress can play a vital role for the benefit of the people of the state, who have suffered during all these turmoil years.
Seeking cooperation from all partymen, he said he will be reaching every party worker in the state.
