Washington, Mar 12 : Ben Affleck has signed on to produce a film adaptation of Marcus Sakey's first novel, 'The Blade Itself.'
Affleck will make the movie with Miramax, producer Sean Bailey while Aaron Stockard is on board to adapt the screenplay.
The film is about two childhood friends from Chicago, who made their reputation committing petty crimes as kids, before choosing different paths in life. When they are reunited years later, one is forced to decide how far he will go to protect the secrets of his past.
The team previously collaborated on Affleck's critically acclaimed directorial debut 'Gone Baby Gone.'
"We had a great experience working with Sean, Ben and Aaron and look forward to continuing our relationship with this new one," Variety quoted Miramax president of production Keri Putnam, as saying.
Kristin Jones, senior VP production, international development and acquisitions at Miramax, will oversee the film under Putnam.
