Mumbai, Mar 11 (UNI) Woman power has taken intrigued Bollywood with a Hindi film, featuring megastar Amitabh Bachchan, being made by an all-women team.
The producer of the film, 'Teen Patti', is Ambika, daughter of noted industrialist Ashok Hinduja and the director is Leena Yadav, who earlier made 'Shabd', starring Aishwarya Rai and Sanjay Dutt.
According to film industry sources, Bachchan was surprised with to see the professional management and skillful execution of the film. ''Working with an all-women team was truly a novel experience,'' he remarked.
Both producer and director had worked on the script for over an year and only after they were convinced about the viability of the project, they went ahead and approached Bachchan, the sources said.
Ms Hinduja also convinced her father to finance the film, to which he readily agreed, the sources added.
The Hindujas have been backing Bachchan's films since the time of late producer Manmohan Desai, who made some blockbusters featuring him, including 'Coolie', on whose sets the actor survived a near-fatal accident, with lakhs of cinegoers then praying for his recovery.
Ms Hinduja's determination to make the film at any cost, overcoming initial hiccups, showed her grasp over the medium after producing the critically acclaimed movie 'Being Cyrus', the sources added.
