Silver bust of Sant Tukaram recovered

Pune, Mar 11 (UNI) The silver bust of Sant Tukaram Maharaj, that went missing from the Historic Dehu Temple on March 2, was found today on the banks of Indrayani River here.

Police received an anonymous call, saying that the bust was kept on the banks of Indrayani river. The Police team alongwith temple trustees rushed to the place and found the bust, kept in a bag, Police Superintendent Viswas Nangre Patil said.

Meanwhile, police arrested four suspects in this connection.

Tension had arose in Dehu Village after the bust of Sant Tukaram went missing from the historic Dehu Temple.

BJP leader Gopinath Munde, who visited the temple recently, also demanded a proper investigation of the incident and said the party would raise the issue during the Assembly session.
