NSCBI authorities draw up a contingency plan
Kolkata, Mar 11 (UNI) A contingency plan has been drawn up by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport authorities to meet the situation during the strike by the Airport Authorities of India (AAI) employess from midnight.
About 30 Indian Air Force personnel would be deployed at the airport to man fire services, running of specific vehicles, helping ground operation, marshalling aircraft and looking after safety.
According to AAI sources, executives would perform all essential duties, including air traffic control.
Till now no airlines had cancelled a flight but the authorities expected that there might be some problems on the civic side like cleaning of toilets, running the airconditioners.
Mr Dipankar Ghosh, Regional Secretary of the AAI employees union, had given the undertaking that no passenger or willing employee would be obstructed during the strike.
