No nomination for RS election in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Mar 11 (UNI) Process of filing of nominations for March 26 election for three Rajya Sabha seats from Rajasthan is yet to gain momentum with the Returning Office here drawing a blank for the fourth successive day today.
The electoral process had begun on March 8 but no nomination had so far been filed since then, Returning Officer and Rajasthan Assembly Secretary G L Chaudhary said.
However, a Congress representative today procured three sets of nomination papers for the party use, Mr Chaudhary added.
The last date for filing nominations is March 15, scrutiny would be done on March 17 and withdrawals could be made by March 19.
One seat has already fallen vacant following resignation by former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh. Besides Mr Singh, Congress' Prabha Thakur and BJP's Gyan Prakash Pilania would retire next month.
