No high-handedness to farmers in collecting other dues: Govt
Lucknow, Mar 11 (UNI) After dismissing the revenue and irrigation dues collection in drought-hit Bundelkhand region till March 31, the Uttar Pradesh government today said no high-handedness was being shown to farmers while collecting other dues.
Replying to a question raised by Independent legislature Dev Singh in the state Assembly, Revenue Minister for State Phagu Chauhan said the government was extending help in all spheres to calamity victims.
Mr Chauhan said, ''Food bank has been made in the drought-hit regions and each affected person is provided with 15 kg of cereal for free.'' ''Dried wells, handpumps and ponds are being bored to avail potable water while continuous power supply is assured for speedy work in the region,'' he informed.
