He came, he talked and walked right into the hearts

Kolkata, Mar 11 (UNI) If you want to win battles, ask Shah Rukh Khan. If you want to bowl over a gathering, ranging for intellectuals to crazy fans, emulate Shah Rukh Khan.

If you want to win over a city with a smile and a salaam, be Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan frenzy took over the city of intellectuals and communists, as people thronged the airport to get a glimpse of their SRK. But unlike the opening scene of 'Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham', he did not emerge off a white chopper and bounce along the runaway with his jacket flowing in the air.

He was whisked off from Gate-VI of the Netaji International Airport in a heavily guarded convoy.

In the hotel, he emerged from the BMW to be greeted by a fusillade of flashbulbs and a hundred probing booms as everyone wanted to know everything about the King right away.

The inevitable happened and after a short fisticuff with the guards, the King was alighting a flight of stairs, but did not forget to turn around and wave at the sea of fans gathered outside.

Half of them went into coma! Comes the moment of the launch, the Kolkata Knight Riders, and the King appeared to a huge round of applause. Arrogant and affable, suave and funny, rich in taste and tongue-in-cheek, the words were handpicked and the epithets perfect for the occasion as Khan said, '' The team will perform on the maxim 'Korbo, Lorbo and Jitbo' (we'll work hard, fight and win ). Inshallah, we'll win the cup. '' All along while announcing the different promos of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan was at his wittiest best. While he unveiled the No 12 jersey for himself, one of the photo journalists shouted, '' Show the backside please. '' Shah Rukh turned back, ''Happy!'' and then did the honours. There was never a dull moment as Shahrukh promised to be present for all the home games and dance if asked for.

'' I will entertain you all. Support us and we will make you proud, '' the King said.

From calling John Buchanan the 'tall gunda' and Sourav 'Maharaj' Ganguly the 'big bully', the Don himself said, '' Hamara team pure ke pure gundo ke hai (our team is composed of bullies only). He was referring to a dialogue from Chuk De India where he said, '' Ek team mein ek hi Gunda rahe sakte hai. Aur is team ka gunda mein hoon (Every team has a bully, I am the one from this side). '' When he left, the others were left in a trance.
