Andhra Pradesh: Former MRO convicted in ACB case
Hyderabad, Mar 11: The Special Judge for Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases in Nellore, convicted and sentenced former Manubolu Mandal Revenue Officer in Nellore district to six-month rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 for offences under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The Judge also sentenced S Parthasarathi to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year with a fine of Rs 10,000 under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The MRO was caught red handed when he accepted a bribe of Rs 15,000 from complainant to do an official favour, an official release said here today.
In another case, Senior Assistant of the District Registrar of Assurances (Kurnool) B Ranganayakulu, was dismissed from service by the government following his conviction by the Additonal Special Judge for ACB cases here, who sentenced him to six months rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 200 for accepting illegal gratification.
He was trapped by the ACB officials when he accepted the bribe of Rs 700 from a complainant, the release added.
