Dismiss Cong Government: AIADMK leaders

Puducherry, Mar 11: AIADMK state secretary and MLA A Anbazhagan today demanded that the DMK-supported Congress government in the Union Territory be dismissed as the administration had come to a standstill due to non-cooperation between the Chief Minister and the ministers.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the government was in such a 'pathatic' state that it could not even finalise the date for the budget session of the territorial assembly in the cabinet meeting yesterday as the five ministers had raised a banner of revolt against Chief Minister N Rangasamy.

Claiming that people have lost faith in the government, the AIADMK leader said Mr Rangasamy and the ministers should have resigned for their misdeeds.

As Chief Minister and the ministers were at ''loggerheads'' and the budget would have to be presented in the House before March 31 for financial allocation to run the administration, Lt Governor Mukut Mithi, utilising the special provision in the Union Territories Act should convene the Assembly on his own, he demanded.
