UN staffer in Nepal commits suicide
Kathmandu, Mar10 (UNI) A Russian national serving in the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) has committed suicide at his rented house on Saturday, local media reported today.
The suicide comes five days after three of his colleagues, Dzmitry Malyshau (Belarus), Nikolay Yamshshikov (Russia) and Sargey Oreshenko (Russia), died in the UN helicopter crash in eastern Nepal that killed 11 people.
Russian national, Evegeny Alexandrov (50), a helicopter engineer was a close friend of the Russian crew members, who were killed in the crash, kantipur quoted police as saying.
He has left a suicide note in Russian language, saying that he killed himself on his own volition, DSP Bikas Khanal was quoted as saying.
