Six girls including a minor rescued from brothel
Mumbai, Mar 10: Six girls, including a minor, were rescued from a brothel at V P Road in south Mumbai. Acting on an information provided by Laskar-E-Hind, an NGO that a 14-year-old girl hailing from Gujarat was sold to a brothel keeper at Kobra Building, V P Road, the police rescued her.
The police team headed by Inspector Vinay Gadgil raided the spot yesterday and found six girls including a minor forced into prostitution by the brothel keeper.
All the girls were rescued and sent to welfare home at Chembur. The brothel keeper Nanda Ananda Patil has been arrested and registered a case under various section of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and PITA (Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act), police added.
