Shiv Sainiks attack Deshdoot office
Nashik, Mar 10 (UNI) Shiv Sainiks went on a rampage and ransacked the head office of a leading local Marathi daily, 'Deshdoot' on the Mahatma Gandhi road here today.
The Sainiks were angry over an advertisement in the paper by workers of Innova Rubbers and Delta Eleasto Metal, located in the Ambad industrial area here, which mentioned that their owner H M Bakshi has been threatening workers through Sunil Bagal, a Shiv Sena leader.
The Shiv Sainiks took a protest march this evening to the 'Deshdoot' office and broke its front office glass and furniture and burnt copies of the daily.
They also pelted stones on a MSRTC bus.
The advertisement also carried a memorandum, signed by 126 workers of these companies, and was addressed to the district collector.
The workers have been on a strike since March 7 protesting against the owner.
The police have arrested about 25-30 Shiv Sainiks in this connection.
