Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) The CPI(M) and BJP floor leaders in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly today alleged that the government had ''failed'' to control the skyrocketing prices of the essential commodities, putting the common man to hardships.
Talking to newspersons on the Assembly premises after staging a walkout in the House to protest the government's ''failure'' to contain the price rise, CPI(M) floor leader N Narasimhaiah said the government was not ready to take suggestions from the Opposition parties to control the price hike.
He alleged that Congress MLAs and Ministers did not allow them to register their protest against the government's response on the issue.
BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy alleged that the government's ''irresponsible attitude'' would burden the commonman. Finance Minister K Rosaiah had also failed to take steps in the budget to curb the price rise, he added.
