Puducherry, Mar 10: The Puducherry State Government group-D employees association has warned of going on indefinite mass casual leave from March 12 to press their demands.
Addressing a press conference here today, association President Gunasekeran and General Secretary Mathiyazhagan said as many as 4,000 employees are working under the general administration in Puducherry. Eventhough, the administration had accepted their genuine demands no interest was shown to implement them, they added.
They alleged that it had become a regular practice for the administration to invite the representatives of the group-D employees and accept their demands, when they would intensify their agitation.
Though several government orders in favour of these employees were issued, they were not implemented. Due to the administration's lethargic attitude the group-D employees were not getting salary hike and despite educational qualifications and seniority, they were denied promotion.
Hence, to press the Government to find a permanent settlement to their problems they would resort to agitation from March 12, they added.
