Srinagar, Mar 10: A former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and five leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today joined National Conference (NC), the main Opposition Party in Jammu and Kashmir.
Former chief minister and NC patron Farooq Abdullah and other senior leaders of the party welcomed the leaders. Ex-MLA Sadiq Ali, who resigned from the NC in 2006, announced his decision to rejoin the party. ''It was home-coming for me,'' Mr Ali told reporters.
The other leaders who also joined the NC included Sheikh Abdul Rehman, district president (Srinagar), Tanvir Sadiq zonal president, Ghulam Hussain Wani zonal president, Abdul Hassan Bhat state secretary (youth) and Sheikh Shahid district president (youth) of PDP.
