Elected Congress MLAs passes resolution unanimously
Kohima, Mar 10 (UNI) Elected Congress legislators in Nagaland today unanimously passed a resolution on the election of CLP leader and sent it to AICC supremo Mrs Sonia Gandhi authorizing her to elect the same.
After more than a three-hour long marathon meeting, in presence of AICC secretary Siddharth Patel and Union Transport Minister Jadish Tytler, the legislators passed the resolution and faxed it to Mrs Gandhi to elect CLP leader of the party in the state.
The central observers individually also held discussions with the MLAs and gathered their views and through resolution authorized Mrs Gandhi to take a decision.
Speaking to newsmen here tonight, both Mr Patel and Mr Tytler said a decision on electing CLP leader will be taken very soon.
When asked the reason for delay in the announcement, they said it was because of the swearing-in ceremony of Meghalaya, led by former Chief Minister D D Lapang, which is taking time and AICC General Secretary Margaret Alva, who is also in-charge of Nagaland, was too busy.
They, however, said barring one, all MLA all were present in today's meeting.
