Shimla, Mar 10 (UNI) The Congress members today walked out of the assembly in protest against 'objectionable remarks' by a BJP member, against the former Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh and his MP wife during the discussion on the budget proposals for 2008-2009.

Mr Virbhadra Singh was not present in the House.

Tempers ran high in the House when BJP legislator Dile Ram, while participating in the discussion, started reciting poetry, making apparent references to the former CM.

Angered over this, the Congress members stood up and raised an objection and urged Speaker Tulsi Ram to expunge the remarks.

On this, the Speaker said the members should not make personal comments about those, who are not present in the House. He said he would examine the contents and if anything was unparliamentary, it would be expunged.

After this, when Mr Dile Ram started to speak again, the Congressmen again accused him of making references to Mr Singh's wife, Pratibha Singh.

Later, the infuriated Congress members began sloganeering, and then walked out of the House in protest.
